Echoes of Eternity: Exploring Consciousness, Art, and the Cosmic Web of Time

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

Have you ever felt like time was slipping away from you? That the moments were fleeting, and you couldn't quite grasp them? Time is a curious thing, isn't it?

As humans, we experience time as a linear progression, moving forward second by second, minute by minute, and day by day. As a result, it's easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, constantly chasing after the next thing and forgetting to take a moment to appreciate the present.

But what if time is different than we perceive it to be?

What if time is just an illusion? A construct of our limited human minds, and if we were to connect with the unlimited potential of our souls, time and space would no longer exist?

I have always felt influenced by time in my life. Now, as an artist, I often explore this question and transcend the boundaries of time through my work, and these questions inspired me to paint "Stupore".

Let me tell you the story of a tiger and a rare flower...

"Deep in the heart of the jungle, the tiger had once stumbled upon a rare and wondrous flower. It was a sight that had left her awe-struck and mesmerized. But, as fate would have it, the tiger lost sight of the flower and could not find it again despite her best efforts.

Determined to reunite with the flower, the tiger embarked on a treacherous journey. She braved the dangers of the jungle, traversed across rivers, and climbed mountains, all searching for the elusive flower. With only the moon as her guide, she trudged on, her will unwavering even as her hopes dwindled.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. But the tiger refused to give up. And finally, one fateful night, she stumbled upon the flower once more. Its beauty had not diminished, and the tiger felt her heart fill with joy and wonder again.

The flower was so happy to be found again that it exploded with joy, and all that energy flowed all around, and the moon shone gold, lighting up the whole world

And at that moment, the tiger realized that her long and arduous journey had been worth it, for the reunion with the rare flower was nothing short of magical."

This story is a testament to my life journey evolution. Still, it was also inspired by "Fnifmum", a short story by Taku Mayumura that I read long ago. Since then, it has stuck in my mind as it uniquely explores the concept of time.

The protagonist, Fnifmum, is a being that can move along a singular timeline, free to revisit his history or push forward to view something new in the galaxy. He moves toward the past, hoping to meet his loved companion Honycominah. However, as his age is much greater than hers, he becomes aware that his ability to reach the past is affected. Unable to touch the nostalgia of his past, Fnifmum looks towards the future end of his expanding being and sees two aliens whom he has never seen before.

As Fnifmum extends his consciousness into the future, he can witness the events unfolding for the two aliens stranded in an airless world. Yet, he cannot foresee their ultimate fate, whether life or death. So, he retreats back into a peaceful sleep, where time loses its grip on his past and manifests itself in his future, where his own destiny will eventually come to an end.

Fnifmum's experience of time is limited by his perception, much like our own. However, as he extends his being into the future, he gains a new emotion – empathy. He becomes invested in the fate of the two aliens and can see their future slowly unravel. For Fnifmum, time is not just a concept but a tangible force he can manipulate to some extent.

What's fascinating about the story is that it alludes to the idea that time is not a fixed construct but something that can expand and contract simultaneously. As we connect with the unlimited potential of our souls, there is no time or space. Instead, everything becomes fluid and interconnected, expanding and contracting at the same time.

Similarly, "Stupore" invites you to consider the possibility of transcending time and space, connecting with your soul's unlimited potential and finding beauty in unexpected places.

When I was painting, time became timeless, and the tiger's journey through the jungle, across rivers, and over mountains became real to me, lost in the beauty of the story and the colours on the paper.

A real testament to the power of art to transcend time and space.

But what is time, really? Some physicists argue that time is an illusion created by our minds. In contrast, others believe it is a fundamental aspect of the universe. From a spiritual perspective, time is a construct of the ego, a way to measure our lives and keep us rooted in the physical world.

However, if we go beyond our mind's limitations and connect with our souls' unlimited potential, time ceases to exist. In the state of absolute consciousness, everything expands and contracts simultaneously, and there is no past, present, or future. We become one with the universe, and time becomes a meaningless concept.

Through this piece, I invite you to think beyond the limitations of time and embrace the beauty of the present moment. I encourage you to see the world with fresh eyes and cherish your moments rather than getting lost in nostalgia or worrying about the future. It reminds you that time is just a perception of our limited minds and that if you connect with the unlimited potential of your soul, you can break free from its constraints and experience the world in its entirety, past, present, and future.

In conclusion, "Stupore" is not just a painting but an invitation to explore the mysteries of the universe, contemplate the nature of time and space, and find the beauty that lies within us all.

May it inspire you to look beyond time and space constraints and find wonder and awe in unexpected places.

When you lose yourself in moments of creativity, you tap into the infinite potential of your soul.

So, take a moment to explore the power of creativity and see where it takes you. Who knows? You might just transcend time itself!
